Workshop - Decorate your Mug

Imagine holding a mug you decorated yourself! During these 2.5 hours, you'll be able to decorate and paint your XL mug. Suitable for beginners who want to get acquainted with clay!

Time & Location

Sep 22, 2022, 6:30 PM – 9:00 PM GMT+2

Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Place de Mai 18, 1200 Woluwe-Saint-Lambert, Belgium

About the event

Imagine you can decorate your own mug without building entirely the mug! In this workshop, you'll decorate an XL mug (400 ml) that I will have made in advance to the workshop.

The mug will still be in leather-hard clay, meaning that it wouldn't have been fired at all. You'll be able to write or draw on it, amend the shape to add features like a face, paint it with colors and even add a handle, making your mug really unique.

I'll explain first all the techniques for you to achieve different effects with underglazes (sgraffito, mishima, carving etc. ) and you'll be able to practice on slabs before doing your mug.

Post workshop, I'll be firing your mug twice 980°C first and then 1220°C for the final glaze firing. 3 weeks after the workshop, you'll be able to come and collect your masterpiece. I'll send you an email when ready.

If you want me to ship the item, it will be possible with a small additional fee to cover packing and shipping costs.

What's included in the price:

The clay, tools, underglazes and transparent glaze and two firings. Non alcoholic drinks.

To bring:

Apart from your good mood, please bring a small hand towel, an apron and clothes that can be washed, as you may end up with a bit of clay on you.
